Instructions for students, faculty and staff, with Pace Google accounts; regarding access to your Pace Zoom account.
Instructions for members of the Pace Community regarding the use of personal Zoom accounts to access Pace Zoom sessions.
Typically if you are attempting to use the SSO sign in for Zoom and see a 403 error that means you're logged in to Google with a non-Pace email address; usually a Gmail account. You might be logged in to this account in addition to the Pace Google account!
The simplest solution
go to google.com
click on the icon in the upper right-hand corner
choose the Sign out option
This should sign you out of all Google accounts on that particular browser.
Now sign in to your Pace Google account then use the steps documented above to log in to a more secure version of Zoom with SSO.
In order to attend a Zoom meeting at Pace you'll need to be signed into a Zoom account before joining the meeting. If you don't have a Zoom account, one can be set up for free here. For more detailed instructions on joining a meeting, please read the Personal Zoom User Access walkthrough, found above.
Right under Meeting ID it reads Join with a personal link name in unassuming blue letters. If you tap that text, Meeting ID becomes Personal Link Name, at which point you have a full keyboard to enter a teacher’s name.
Update the Zoom application. Whether you're using Zoom on a computer or a mobile device, you'll need AT LEAST version 5.7 to establish a connection.
On a computer:
Sign in to the Zoom app
click your icon in the upper right
choose Check for Updates
Or head to paceacademy.zoom.us/download and click Download under Zoom Client for Meetings.
Mobile devices, like an iPad, are updated through the app store.
If you're on a mobile device, like an iPad or phone:
quit the Zoom app
put the device into airplane mode
count to 10, then disable airplane mode
reconnect to your wifi
Now log back in to Zoom and connect to your meeting. If that still doesn't work, restart your device then try reconnecting.
If you're using a computer:
quit the Zoom app
disable your network connection
count to 10
reconnect to wifi
Now log back in to Zoom and connect to your meeting. If that still doesn't work, restart your computer then try reconnecting.
